The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Olukayode Egbetokun, has disbanded the police team responsible for running over a citizen in handcuffs in the Ekpoma area of Edo State. The decision to disband the team was made by the IGP to address the unprofessional conduct exhibited by some officers attached to the Police Command in Edo.

“This action demonstrates the IGP’s commitment to holding officers accountable for their actions, which will never be tolerated in the Nigeria Police Force,” Adejobi stated. He further reiterated the IGP’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics within the police force.
Adejobi urged residents of Edo State to cooperate with police personnel in the discharge of their statutory duties. The disbandment of the team responsible for the incident reflects the police force’s commitment to addressing misconduct and ensuring that officers are held accountable for their actions. By taking decisive action, the IGP aims to restore public confidence in the police and promote professionalism and ethical conduct among its officers.
