Adeyeye Adeola, a talented Nigerian chef, has embarked on an ambitious journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. The cook-a-thon kicked off in Ile Oluji LGA, Ondo state, on Friday and is scheduled to continue until July 6.
Adeola has taken to social media, particularly Twitter, to rally support for her record-breaking attempt. In one of her posts, she declared, “#150hours is the time! Moving on and on!!!”
The current holder of the world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual is Hilda Baci from Akwa Ibom state. Baci secured her place in history in June with an impressive cooking stint of 93 hours and 11 minutes, officially certified by the Guinness World Records.
Adeola’s endeavor adds to the growing list of Nigerians aspiring to surpass Baci’s record. In a recent development, Damilola Adeparusi, a chef based in Ekiti, announced plans to embark on a 150-hour cooking marathon to establish a new cooking record. Although Adeparusi completed a 120-hour cooking marathon previously, it did not receive recognition from the Guinness World Records.
