Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Bolt driver, Obasi Okeke, in Abuja, according to the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Haruna Garba. The victim was found with a slit throat in Ngugu Close, Area 11, Garki Abuja. Investigations revealed that the deceased was a Bolt driver who was called by one of the suspects to transport them to Guzape Area in Abuja to buy Indian hemp. However, upon returning to their starting point, they claimed they had no money to pay for the trip. An argument ensued, during which one of the suspects slit the driver’s throat with a knife and fled the scene. The three suspects have confessed to the crime and will face charges in court after the completion of the investigation.
In another incident, the FCT Police Command arrested a scavenger who allegedly abducted a three-year-old boy in Nyanya. Acting on actionable intelligence, the police apprehended the suspect, who was about to be lynched by an angry mob. The suspect confessed to the crime and implicated an accomplice named Abba. The rescued boy has been reunited with his parents, and the suspect will soon be brought before the court.
Additionally, the FCT Police Command announced the arrest of a notorious car thief who had stolen a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 Jeep valued at N14,000,000. The suspect had posed as a potential buyer at a car wash in Area 10, Garki, and requested a test drive. He then drove off with the vehicle, but three weeks later, he was apprehended by the police in Jos while still in possession of the stolen car.
Furthermore, the police arrested three suspects involved in a kidnapping case in the Jikowyi area of the FCT. Acting on intelligence and with the assistance of a patriotic individual, the police apprehended the suspects who had threatened to kidnap the victim. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court.
The FCT Police Command is taking these criminal activities seriously and is working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of residents in the region.
