HM King Obukowho Monday Whiskey, the Paramount Ruler of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, has called on President Bola Tinubu to expand the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd (TSSL).
In a statement released on Sunday in Warri, Delta, the former journalist turned traditional ruler highlighted the need to extend the scope of the contract to TSSNL, owned by High Chief Government Owezide Ekpemukpolo, popularly known as Tompolo. This recommendation comes in light of the recent success in apprehending a foreign vessel involved in theft in the waterways.
“With the recent arrest of a foreign bunkering vessel by the operatives of Tantita, owned by High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, alias Tompolo, it is evident that the company not only possesses the capability to fulfill its responsibilities but also demonstrates patriotic dedication to safeguarding the nation’s economic well-being,” stated HM King Obukowho Monday Whiskey.
He emphasized the importance of adequately funding Tantita to meet the financial requirements for its expanding staff and advanced technology involved in carrying out this vital security task. Furthermore, he urged the relevant government agencies to promptly broaden the job’s scope to create more employment opportunities. This step would discourage locals from supporting foreign elements or security forces involved in the destructive vandalism of economic resources and the degradation of the Niger Delta environment.
“Tantita has taken significant risks in confronting both known and unknown criminal groups involved in pipeline vandalism and environmental pollution. It is the responsibility of the Federal Government to reciprocate the company’s efforts by providing proper funding and expanding the current job scope. This will allow the Nigerian economy to thrive once again through the hard work of this patriotic Niger Deltan, High Chief Government Owezide Ekpemukpolo, also known as Tompolo,” HM King Obukowho Monday Whiskey asserted.
He stressed the need for the government and its agencies involved in this project to fulfill their corporate social and economic responsibilities by consistently funding the project. By doing so, they can prevent economic saboteurs from capitalizing on its failure and launching disastrous attacks. HM King Obukowho Monday Whiskey concluded by expressing his hope that those who have dedicated themselves to protecting national assets should benefit from their efforts, serving as an encouragement for others to follow this patriotic path.
