In line with its commitment to subsidize transport fares during the festive season, the Federal Government has released a list of new motor parks where Nigerians can enjoy a 50% rebate on return trips. The announcement was made by Temitope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The government’s initiative to provide a 50% transportation rebate aims to ease the financial burden on citizens during the yuletide period. This rebate was initially rolled out on December 25, with 128 road transport passengers on northern routes already benefiting from a 50% refund on their fares.
The move is part of the government’s efforts to make travel more affordable and accessible for Nigerians, particularly during the holiday season when many people embark on journeys to celebrate with their families and loved ones. As the list of designated motor parks is made public, passengers can plan their travel accordingly to take advantage of the subsidized fares.
The government’s commitment to facilitating affordable transportation aligns with its broader goal of improving the overall well-being of citizens and ensuring a more inclusive and accessible transportation system across the country.
