In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, popular Nollywood actress Ronke Ojo, known as Oshodi Oke, expressed deep regret for her involvement in campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the tragic #EndSARS protest at Lekki Toll-Gate. This event witnessed the Nigerian military firing live bullets, resulting in the loss of several lives.
Oshodi Oke revealed that despite receiving payment from the APC for her campaign efforts, she deeply regrets aligning herself with the ruling party, especially after witnessing the devastating outcome of the incident that took place on October 20, 2020.
She shared her emotional state during the #EndSARS movement, stating, “You know, when the #EndSARS thing came up, I was so down, I was really, really down. I regretted working with them for that alone.”
The actress also voiced her disappointment in Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who initially denied the occurrence of any fatalities during the incident.
“Our Governor was saying three things at the same time,” she expressed her dissatisfaction.
