Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has issued a directive for the immediate suspension of a staff member of the Ministry of Education in the state. The suspension comes in response to allegations of sexual harassment involving the said staff member and a female student. The accused individual, Lawal Ibrahim, who was the former Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Dantankari, Dandume Local Government area, is now a staff member of the Ministry of Education.
The governor has instructed the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary School Education to promptly suspend Lawal Ibrahim and conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations. The directive also calls for swift and appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation, with a subsequent report to the governor.
Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police has been tasked with investigating the allegations and looking into the conduct of the Divisional Police Officer in Dandume for possible compromise on the matter. The police commissioner is expected to provide a detailed report to the governor after completing the investigation.
