Mmesoma Ejikeme, who has been embroiled in allegations of forging her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, has finally spoken out regarding the issue. In a video circulating online, Mmesoma can be seen holding a printout of her UTME result, denying the accusations and stating that she does not understand why she is being accused of forgery. She suggests that there may have been discrepancies from JAMB’s end, as she printed out the result she was given.
Mmesoma, who reportedly scored 362 in the 2023 UTME, was recently awarded a N3 million scholarship by Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company. However, JAMB withdrew her UTME result due to suspected manipulation.
The controversy surrounding Mmesoma’s case has sparked mixed reactions from the public. While some doubt the possibility of her fabricating her result, the Anambra State government has confirmed that she presented a forged result. Initially, the government had planned to honor Mmesoma for her achievement, but the truth came to light before the ceremony.
Innoson Motors, the company that awarded Mmesoma the scholarship, has pledged to conduct an independent investigation into the matter. Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Communication for Innoson Motors, stated that the company is committed to uncovering the truth. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, Mmesoma’s eligibility for the scholarship will be determined.
