The eight-member panel established by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to investigate the controversies surrounding the claimed results of candidate Mmesoma Ejikeme in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has submitted its report. Headed by Professor Nkemdili Nnonyelu, the committee confirmed that Miss Mmesoma indeed forged a score of 362, as initially claimed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The report, which has been obtained, reveals that the candidate admitted to single-handedly forging the result before visiting a cyber café for printing. Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Charles Soludo, has confirmed the authenticity of the report.
Additionally, JAMB officials identified several red flags, including a different date of birth, a different registration number, and the use of a discarded Notification of Results template from 2021. It was also evident that the candidate manipulated the name of the examination center, using the old name instead of the updated one.
During Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma’s submission, she confessed, in the presence of her principal and the Education Secretary, that the account provided by the JAMB officials accurately described what transpired. She admitted to manipulating the result herself without any assistance and acknowledged using the same phone number from Airtel for the forgery.
The panel’s findings further corroborate JAMB’s claims of forgery in Mmesoma’s UTME results. The report serves as a crucial step in addressing the controversies surrounding the examination and ensuring the integrity of the results.
