Four young boys have been kidnapped in Amako community in Umuaka LGA, Owerri, Imo State.
According to the father of the abducted boys, they were kidnapped around 10am on the 27th of May, 2023 by a tenant who moved into the compound a day before.
He said the matter has since been reported to the police while the landlord, caretaker and agent that brought the tenants have been apprehended.
“Two ladies newly parked into the compound on the 26th May 2023, at Amako community in Umuaka LGA owerri in IMO State. On may 27th around 10am, one of the ladies walked into the sitting room and saw the children playing. (4 boys including my last daughter whose name is Bethel Jemine).
“My two Older daughters both aged 8years were having their bath in the bathroom. The two mothers of the children were not around at the time. So when the lady walked into the sitting room, she took the 4 boys telling Bethel who is 6years old, that she is taking her brothers out to buy something for them for the children’s day.
“But Bethel refused and was adamant towards the woman, telling the woman to leave her brothers alone. The woman shouted at bethel to get back into the house. Bethel rushed inside to tell her elder sisters who were in the bathroom what was happening. When they came outside, they couldn’t see the little boys and the woman. That was how alarm was raised.
“The issue has been reported to the nearest police station at Amako. The landlord, the caretaker and the agent has been arrested. And they couldn’t give any tangible information about the two ladies who kidnapped these 4 little boys,” the statement added.
