Joyce Ijeoma, a Nigerian masseur, has embarked on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest massage on different individuals. Her attempt began on July 1 and is set to last for three days.
Ijeoma took to Instagram to announce her official attempt and called on supporters to join her at the designated venue in Lagos. She expressed her gratitude for the support and encouraged people to bring their families, friends, and even their enemies to witness the record-breaking endeavor.
In a video shared online, Ijeoma indicated that she had already completed 22 hours of the 72-hour massage marathon. However, it is still uncertain whether the Guinness World Records is aware of her attempt.
The current record for the world’s longest massage stands at 25 hours and 4 minutes, achieved by Alastair Galpin from South Africa in 2015. Inspired by the accomplishments of fellow Nigerians, such as Hilda Baci, who recently set a new record for the longest cooking marathon, many individuals in Nigeria are now pursuing their own record-breaking feats, from cooking marathons to teaching marathons.
Joyce Ijeoma’s determination to break the Guinness World Record demonstrates the drive and ambition of Nigerians to achieve remarkable feats and make their mark on the global stage.
