In a heartwarming gesture for the New Year, Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo, the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ilaje/Ese-odo federal constituency, has extended his benevolence to his constituents. The federal lawmaker recently delivered a trailer-load of rice to the people of his constituency in celebration of the New Year. Additionally, he fulfilled a promise by delivering 30 solar-powered street lights, with plans to bring in thousands more in the near future.
The grand finale program, originally organized for Ilaje Local Government, was postponed due to the untimely passing of Hon. Ojogo’s younger sister, Mrs. Eunice Ebiagbin Yeiyah (Nee Ojogo). Despite the somber circumstances, Hon. Ojogo expressed his commitment to celebrating the people of Ilaje for their outstanding support during his election victory.
In partial fulfillment of his campaign promises, Hon. Donald Ojogo distributed relief materials and palliatives to the people of Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency. Facilitated through NEMA, the welfare package included various essential items distributed on December 24, 2023. The distribution comprised food items, household essentials, clothing, and building materials, benefiting numerous households in the constituency.
The distribution site at Agadagba-Obon witnessed the presence of the combined APC party structure of Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Governments. Ward Chairmen and APC LG Chairmen received the packages on behalf of their respective wards and party leaders.
The second phase of the distribution, flagged off on January 2, 2024, covered the delivery of 600 bags of 50kg rice to the people of Ese-Odo Local Government. Youth Chairmen from Ugbo, Mahin/Aheri/Etikan, Apoi, and Arogbo received the items on behalf of their youth councils.
Hon. Donald Ojogo, unable to attend the solemn program following his sister’s demise, was represented by his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Hon. Oyebo Aladetan. Aladetan emphasized the non-political nature of the distribution and urged recipients to distribute the welfare packages efficiently and without political bias.
The second phase targeted Traditional Rulers, religious leaders, and youth groups, emphasizing a non-partisan approach. Additionally, 30 solar-powered street lights were received and are set to be distributed following due consultation.
Hon. Ojogo made a special appeal to Ilaje people and assured them that the new date for the grand finale would be announced soon, post the burial of his late sister. Anticipating a positive impact on the lives of the constituents, he praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to the welfare and well-being of the people as an exemplar of responsible and responsive leadership. The announcement of the grand finale’s new date is expected to take place at the federal constituency headquarters in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government area of Ondo State.
