The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has urged the management and staff of the Commission to pray for the continued development and prosperity of the Niger Delta region. Ogbuku made the appeal during the Annual Thanksgiving Service organized by the NDDC Christian Fellowship at the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.
He encouraged the staff to cultivate a culture of thanksgiving to attract more blessings from God. Ogbuku emphasized that the Almighty Father had been faithful and merciful to the NDDC, deserving praise to pave the way for a more prosperous new year. He expressed gratitude for the sustained annual thanksgiving service and acknowledged the need to be thankful for the many blessings received.
Ogbuku appreciated both staff and management for participating in the prayer session and announced plans to incorporate a place of worship into the headquarters complex. He lamented the wrong impressions people had nurtured about the NDDC over the years, despite its efforts in driving the development process in the oil-rich Niger Delta region. Ogbuku assured that the current Board was determined to reverse these wrong perceptions and emphasized the importance of love and unity among the staff.
During the service, a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mr. Remi Odebode, encouraged NDDC staff to be thankful in every situation. The resident pastor of the fellowship, Mr. Udoma Sunday, highlighted the answered prayers for a new Board and a Chief Executive Officer committed to making a positive difference in the Niger Delta region. He urged Niger Deltans to continually praise and glorify God for blessing them with abundant natural resources.
