Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, announced on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu has approved the construction of 40 houses for the Justices of the Court of Appeal, the Federal High Court, and the FCT High Courts.
Wike disclosed this during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal complex at Dakibiyu, Jabi District, Abuja. He mentioned that the President has also approved retirement homes for the heads of courts, including the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, the Chief Judge of the FCT, the President of the National Industrial Court, and the President of the Court of Appeal.
“I want to assure you, by the grace of God, the foundation of these homes will be laid this August, and before September next year, you will all have your keys to your houses,” Wike stated.
Additionally, the Minister inaugurated the first Taxi and Bus terminal in Kugbo, Karu District of Abuja, earlier this week. Wike noted that the new bus terminal aims to alleviate the discomfort experienced by commuters in the FCT, particularly during the rainy season. The terminal is expected to enhance the public transportation infrastructure, improve commuting experiences, and boost security in the area.
