In an interview after the Eld-el-Kabir prayers in Lagos, President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians to commit to making sacrifices for the progress and stability of the country. He emphasized the need for both leaders and citizens to adopt attitudes that would propel the nation to greater heights.
Tinubu stressed the importance of deliberate commitment from both leadership and citizens, expressing his belief that sacrifices made would ultimately lead to prosperity. He reassured Nigerians that Allah would not burden them beyond what they can bear and encouraged them to have faith in the country and in themselves.
The president called for unity among Nigerians, urging them to live together without religious or tribal sentiments. He emphasized the importance of joy, prosperity, and peaceful coexistence, expressing his belief that Nigeria would experience peace and stability. Tinubu also expressed his commitment to revitalizing the country and ensuring that all Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy during his tenure.
As Nigerians celebrate the festival, President Tinubu encouraged them to do so in love, peace, and brotherhood, expressing his optimism that Nigeria would regain its greatness.
“May our sacrifices turn to prosperity. We’ve to make sacrifices and that is clear.
“But Allah will not give you the burden that you cannot carry; He will not. He is there for you.
“Have faith in the country, have faith in yourselves, believing as a citizen of this country that it will be well with us.
“You must join hands to live together without religious or tribal sentiments. Live with one another in joy and prosperity.
“Nigeria will see peace and stability and God will grant those in the warfront victory and peace and spare their lives,” Tinubu said.
