POLICE, GALLERY SECURITY ARREST TWO SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS IN ONDO JOINT OPERATION
ONDO — A fresh security breakthrough has been recorded in Ondo State following a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force and Gallery Security Services Limited, which led to the arrest of two suspected kidnappers linked to an ongoing abduction investigation.
The Gallery Security operation, carried out in parts of Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, was reportedly connected to an investigation by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Lagos State Police Command into the abduction of a businesswoman in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State on April 22, 2026.
According to available reports, the investigation gained momentum after security operatives traced the movement of some suspects from Lagos to riverine communities in Ondo State. That intelligence reportedly triggered a coordinated response involving the Lagos State Police Command, the Ondo State Police Command, the Okitipupa Area Command and Gallery Security Services Limited.
The Gallery Security operation eventually led to the arrest of two suspects identified in reports as Semoboawei Joshua, 27, from Amapere Community, and Gbamire Telemowei, 32, from Akpata Community, both in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The suspects were said to have been handed over by the Security Manager of Gallery Security Services Limited, Navy Lieutenant Zakari Abdullahi (Rtd), to operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Reports also indicated that security operatives recovered a locally fabricated shotgun believed to be connected to criminal activities currently under investigation. The suspects remain legally presumed innocent until formally charged and convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction.
The latest Gallery Security operation comes only days after another security intervention involving Gallery Security Services Limited led to the rescue of a kidnapped trader, Mrs Morenike Falona, in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Mrs Falona, a 37-year-old trader and resident of Ode-Irele, was reportedly abducted at about 10:00 p.m. on June 16, 2026, at Orelopo Street, off Ebute Road, Irele. She was rescued unharmed at about 6:30 p.m. on June 19, 2026, from an oil palm plantation in Iju-Osun community after a 20-member rescue team was deployed by Gallery Security Services Limited.
In that earlier case, two suspected kidnappers, Obibodefiyie Ajuesie, 36, from Ajapa Community, and Monday Lucky, popularly known as “Gazilo,” 37, from Akpata Community, were arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the earlier arrest and acknowledged that it had taken over the two suspected kidnappers arrested by operatives of Gallery Security Services Limited in Irele Local Government Area. The command also commended the security outfit for its role in the rescue of the victim and the handover of the suspects.
The fresh Gallery Security operation is therefore the second major security breakthrough associated with the outfit within days, placing renewed attention on intelligence-led collaboration between public security agencies, private security operators and local communities.
Security sources say the difficult terrain of riverine communities in parts of Ondo South often requires strong local knowledge, community intelligence and careful coordination with conventional law enforcement agencies. This is where private security outfits with local networks can provide support, provided their operations remain within the law and under proper police supervision.
Senior High Chief Bibopere Ajube, Chief Executive Officer of Gallery Security Services Limited, has commended the role of security agencies and local communities in recent operations. He said sustained cooperation between communities, police formations and responsible private security operators remains essential in confronting kidnapping and other violent crimes across the region.
The Gallery Security operation also highlights a broader security reality in the South-West and Niger Delta border areas. Criminal networks often move across local government and state boundaries. This makes inter-agency cooperation important, especially where an investigation that begins in one state produces leads in another.
In this latest case, the link between a Lagos kidnapping probe and arrests in Ondo State shows how cross-border intelligence can assist investigators. It also demonstrates why security agencies must continue to share information quickly when suspects are believed to have moved from one jurisdiction to another.
However, security analysts warn that arrests alone do not end kidnapping networks. Investigators will still have to establish the facts, trace other possible collaborators, review the evidence, and determine whether the suspects should be charged in court. That process is necessary to ensure that justice is done and that innocent persons are not wrongly punished.
For residents of Ondo South, the latest Gallery Security operation may provide some reassurance, especially after growing anxiety over kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes. But it also underlines the need for continued vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious movements to recognised security authorities.
The police are expected to continue their investigation into the suspects arrested in the joint operation, while the Lagos and Ondo commands determine the next legal steps.

For Ogele News, the key facts are clear. Two suspected kidnappers were arrested in Ondo State in a joint Police and Gallery Security operation linked to a Lagos kidnapping investigation. The suspects were handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Lagos State Police Command. The latest arrest followed another recent Gallery Security operation in which a kidnapped trader was rescued in Irele and two other suspects were handed over to the police.
Taken together, both incidents show the growing importance of intelligence sharing, community cooperation and lawful collaboration between security agencies and private security outfits in tackling kidnapping across the region.
Gallery Security Services Limited has assisted the Nigeria Police Force in arresting two suspected kidnappers in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, in connection with a Lagos kidnapping case under investigation.
The suspects, Semoboawei Joshua, 27, of Amapere Community, and Gbamire Telemowei, 32, of Akpata Community, were apprehended after the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Lagos State Police Command traced persons of interest to the riverine communities of Ondo State. The squad had been investigating the abduction of a businesswoman in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State, on April 22, 2026.
Acting on credible intelligence and drawing on its operational presence across the riverine areas, Gallery Security deployed personnel who supported the Lagos and Ondo State Police Commands and Area Command Okitipupa in tracking and arresting the suspects. A locally fabricated shotgun was recovered during the operation.
The Security Manager of Gallery Security Services, Navy Lieutenant Zakari Abdullahi (Rtd), handed the suspects over to the Lagos State Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The arrest came days after Gallery Security rescued Mrs. Morenike Falona, a 37-year-old trader abducted on June 16, 2026, at Orelopo Street, Irele Town. She was freed unharmed on June 19 at a palm plantation in Iju-Osun community, and her abductors were arrested and handed to the police.
Speaking on the operations, the Chief Executive Officer of Gallery Security Services, Senior High Chief Bibopere Ajube, said the outcomes proved what coordinated security work could achieve.
“Within one week we have helped rescue a kidnapped woman, arrest her abductors, and apprehend suspects in a separate Lagos case. When communities, security agencies, and responsible private operators act together, criminals can be tracked and brought to justice.”
He warned offenders operating in Ondo State, the South-West, and the wider Niger Delta that they would find no refuge.
“Those involved in these crimes should stop now. Through sustained collaboration with security agencies and host communities, they will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted.”
Senior High Chief Ajube reaffirmed the company’s commitment to protecting lives and property and supporting law enforcement across Ondo State and the Niger Delta.
